Electric Window Button

Hello, the retaining clip ( or whatever it is) no longer retains the button for my rear offside electric window. The button has now vanished into the door. Can this be fixed without removing the door card.

as doa says, same thing happened on my gal took door card off and found some sneaky basket had superglued a cable tie round the switch to hold it in.only it didnt B)

Oh well, thanks anyway...sigh. perhaps i'll stick a photo of the other button over the hole!

well - i did manage to retrieve my "switch wiring" from inside the door, using:

a torch

a bit of string with a loop in it

and a few long metal items.

 

i pulled out the lower part of the door, and with one person feeding the string in, and when with the best view of the switch, looped the string round it, and pulled it up.

 

it worked, but could take a bit of time, depends how skillful you are, and how bad the item is placed in the door.

 

i don't know about the MKI - but the MKII you can just pull the handle out the door lol

You cant remove the "pull to close" door handle on the mk1 without some damage to the door card,,,,,,,,,,, :lol:

 

 

I would recommend you get a haynes manual,,,it gives good info on door card removal :ph34r:

ooooooo, he hasn't posted for a whole 4 days.

 

maybe hes ran out of fuel, down some lane, in the middle of nowhere, and cant bring himself to go to the caravan site, only 1/2 a mile away, where all the diesel owners are laughing at him.
